THAT THING // STOKES CROFT

Happy New Year!

I recently collaborated on some editorial content for my university project submission with Bristol, independent streetwear brand THAT THING.  My project is the creation and distribution of a new, indie magazine representing the cultural quarter of Bristol (Stokes Croft).

The mag, BS1, offers a platform for local creatives to showcase their talent with a focus on the bubbling underground music scene within the area plus a showcase of the local style and indie designers. Introducing THAT THING, Bristol's answer to independent style and street trends. Fronted by the dazzlingly creative, Bristol-native Joh Rindom, the brand strives to address the individuality of Stokes Croft and clearly defines the Bristol Aesthetic that is growing in national popularity.

As a fan of the brand, I met up with Joh to have a chat about her brand, new season designs and see how we could collaborate for the first issue of BS1. She kindly knocked together her pop-up studio for me and I shot some sassy snaps of the new collection on disposable camera. I love the raw vibe of polaroid and disposable and totally think you can't create this rawness on photoshop.

The full editorial available in BS1 Magazine (coming soon)...

The collection is now available to shop online here...

  1. Priding themselves on being a Bristol Streetwear Brand. They have such an individual style plus they have some many pre-loved, customised and designer vintage items I really love.
