VINTAGE BIRD CAGE CAFÉ

by - 3:34 am

Hi all, I hope you're enjoying the lovely weather!

After hearing whispers on the wind about how kitch this little café is, my mother decided to load the Chinner girl-gang into the Mini and whizz us on over to the outskirts of Yate to check it out. A cakery, bakery and all round yummy café, the Vintage Birdcage is a little slice of heaven located in the grounds of the gorgeous old hotel. Indicated only by a vintage birdcage mounted on top of a watering can of flowers outside the front door, one get's the feeling of exclusivity and a charming secrecy about the place.

Yes that is my mother... cringe

Rounding the corner, visitors are welcomed by layers of handmade bunting and fairy lights guiding you down a paved alleyway into the hidden café area. Strewn with gorgeous, little accessories and charms littered around the walls, ceiling and doors, the Vintage Birdcage really has put a lot of effort into the cutesy décor and aesthetic of their eatery.

With a queue out of the door, it is easy to see why this little place is doing so well. Specialising in cakes, baked goods and offering a mouth-watering afternoon tea the Vintage Birdcage is the ideal spot for a sophisticated but laid-back girlie hang-out. Perfect for that annual Mother's Day brunch. Staffed by a handful of smiling and upbeat young people and priced very reasonably, I would very much recommend checking out this little spot before they have a waiting list!

Thank you for a yummy coffee and the best shortbread I have ever tasted Vintage Birdcage Café!
